Welcome to IMPACT in Public Libraries!
Project IMPACT (Initiative to Measure Personnel Assimilation of Computer-mediated Training) in Public Libraries was an evaluation research study proposed to investigate the impact of various levels of implementing asynchronous Web-based training with and without facilitation and in-house support. The short and long-term e-training outcome was measured based on participants' knowledge of learning objectives, task-level self-efficacy, and self-report of on-the-job performance. The jointly funded grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services and the University of North Texas provided funding for 400 scholarships for course participants in the LE@D continuing education course, "Managing Difficult Patrons with Confidence." Public libraries from twenty-seven different states were represented.
On the Project IMPACT LE@D Research Webpages you'll find:
- Project findings
- Project documentation
- Project resources for integrating and evaluating online training
- Interactive tools to make it easier for you to ask questions and share your online training evaluation and implementation experiences
IMPACT Website is a "commons" where public library continuing education stakeholders can learn of research findings on e-training implementation and facilitation decisions and share their workplace e-training integration, facilitation, and evaluation experiences. Your comments and suggestions are not only welcome, but also genuinely encouraged.
